4th Annual Bagwell Kayak Fishing Tournament

Description: This is an interesting and challenging format called the "Top Bag". Essentially, you want to put together a solid bag of tackle for your fellow angler. Then you end up fishing with tackle that you pull from an exchange.

Registration: Open to public. Open until Saturday May 1, 2010 at 5 a.m. Entry & Payment MUST be received by then.
Pre-Tournament/Tackle-Bag Exchange Meeting -attendance mandatory: Green Park, Dauphin Island (next to Ship & Shore)
Saturday May 1,2010 - 5:15 - 5:30 a.m. The tackle bag exchage will start at 5:15 am sharp.
Entry: $30 + Tackle Bag
Tackle Exchange Details: The tackle exchange takes place from 5:15- 5:30 a.m. at Green Park, Dauphin Island, where we will pull names and exchange bags. Bring grocery bag with your name on it & include lures listed. The bag you end up with is what you must fish with for the tournament. No other lures may be used with the exception of 1 cork and leader material. $5 of the entry goes to the Top Bag Pot. If the 1st place winner uses your bag, you win the Pot.
Tackle Bag Rules: Your bag must include: 1 top water lure, 4 Saltwater Jigheads (2 ea. 1/4, 1/8 oz), 9 plastic baits for jigheads (mixing of colors and styles OK), 1 spoon or spinner & 1 "wildcard" lure (your choice). No more, no less. Lures may be used but must be in good working condition with sharp hooks, no rust, obvious original finish. Plastics must be new (Gulp/Blurp allowed) and color variations OK. At 5:30 a.m. you are free to leave for your launch destination. Lures may be combined or colored. Afterwards, the tackle bag is yours to keep.
Considerations: 1) You could pull your bag. 2) The top bag that contributes to 1st place wins the pot.
Legal Fishing Time: 5:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
Legal Stringer: 5 heaviest fish(only one redfish allowed). Slot Redfish (16-26”), Spotted Sea Trout (14” min) & Flounder (12” min) are eligible.
Weigh-In: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Boundary: Florida State line to Mississippi State line.
Payouts: $20 of each entry goes to Tournament Pot
(1st = 40% / 2nd = 27% / 3rd = 18% / 4th = 10% / 5th = 5%).
$5 goes to Top Bag Pot. $5 to local charity.
Legal Craft: Human-Powered Paddle-Craft Only (kayaks, canoes, pirogues).
